ITINERARY
Day 1:
Arrive Myanmar
Arrive Yangon by a morning or mid-day
flight. Our guide will welcome you at the
airport and take you to the hotel. The
afternoon tour of Yangon city includes Chauk
Htatgyi, a colossal reclining Buddha;
Karaweik Hall (a Royal Barge) on the Royal
Lake (Kandawgyi); China town and the Shwe
Dagon Pagoda. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 2: Yangon – Nyaung Oo - Bagan
Leave the hotel to the airport to take early
morning flight from Yangon to Nyaung Oo. Morning
tour starts with the Nyaung Oo
market; followed by the pagodas – Shwe Zi
Gon (prototype of the bell shaped pagoda);
Gu Byauk Kyi (at Wet Kyi Inn)(with Indian
style spires such as Mahabodi pagoda)
After lunch, move to Myin Ka Bar. Visit the
Ku Byauk Kyi pagoda (at Myin Ka Bar); and
Myin Ka Bar pagoda (mark the end of the
influence of southern Indian architecture).
Continue with Manuha pagoda (depict the
feelings of the captive King), built after
Mon style. Enjoy the sunset from Lawkananda
Phayar. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 3: Bagan
After breakfast, visit lacquer ware workshop
at Bagan Myo Thit. Proceed to visit off the
beaten track pagodas. Proceed to Dhama
Yarzika (at West Phwa Saw) and
observe elaborate and unusual design of
pentagon. At Min Nanthu, observe Phayar Thon
Zu pagoda (three distinct small
square temples). Observe Tayoke Pyay pagoda.
On the way back, observe the finest
brickwork in Dhama Yangyi pagoda and sunset
view from Pyat Thada Pagoda. Overnight in
Bagan.

Day 4: Bagan – Popa - Mandalay
After early breakfast, leave Bagan by coach
(300 km- approx. 7 hours drive) to Mandalay.
En route visit Mt Popa, an extinct volcano
with its shrines dedicated to animist
sprits, known as ‘Nats’. Continue to
Mandalay, a scenic journey of various
landscapes and small villages. Arrive
Mandalay late afternoon for hotel check in.
Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 5: Mandalay – Sagaing
After breakfast at the hotel, visit
Amarapura, 15 km from Mandalay. There, visit
Maha Ganda Yon, the famous Buddhist
monastery, where hundreds of monks live and
study; continue to 200 –year old U Bein Teak
Bridge. Continue to Sagaing that is on the
other side of Mandalay. Visit Soon Oo Ponnya
Shin pagoda. Enjoy the view of the majestic
Ayeyarwady river from the top of the Sagaing
hill. Proceed to Kaung Hmu Daw, the Sri
Lankan architectural style. Observe the
silver smith workshops at Ywa Htaung.
On the way back, visit Mahamuni pagoda in
Mandalay. There, observe the bronze Buddha
brought from Rakkhine in A.D 1,764. Observe
the workshops (gold leaf beating; stone
carving etc) around the Mahamuni pagoda.

Day 6: Mandalay – Mingun – Mandalay
After
breakfast, take a boat trip to Mingun.
There, observe the 90 ton Mingun Bell (the
largest, hung, uncracked bell in the world);
Pahto Daw Gyi, (the largest unfinished zedi
in the world).
Visit the Shwe Nan Daw Kyaung or Golden
Palace Monastery; Kuthodaw pagoda, known as
the world’s largest book due to 729 marble
slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures.
Enjoy the sunset from Mandalay hill.
Overnight in Mandalay.(Meal:B/L/D)
Day 7: Mandalay – Heho – Pindaya – Inle
After breakfast, direct transfer to airport
for domestic flight to Heho. Upon arrival at
Heho, proceed by road to Pindaya Cave. Visit
Pindaya cave, unique for about nine
thousands Buddha images placed there by
pilgrims over many centuries. Observe the
250 year old Banyan trees; Shan paper making
workshop using the mulberry bark; and paper
parasol making workshop. Leave for Nyaung
Shwe (90 km-2 ½ hrs). Upon arrival at Inle,
direct transfer to hotel. Overnight in
Inle.(Meal:B/L/D)
Day 8: Inle
After breakfast, morning tour begins: Leave
by long boat with outboard motor to Nga Phe
Kyaung monastery (known as the Jumping cat
monastery) Observe the centuries’ old Buddha
images and pedestals. On the way, observe
the leg rowers and the vegetation fields
grown on the floating islands. At Inn Paw
Khon, study the traditional weaving looms
producing cotton, silk, and Shan bag.
Proceed to Phaung Daw Oo pagoda, the most
famous pagoda in the Southern Shan State. Go
back to the hotel. Enjoy the Egrets and
other birds flying in formation just one
hour before the sunset. Overnight in
Inle.(Meal:B/L/D)
Day 9: Inle – Taunggyi – Heho - Yangon
After breakfast, check out from the hotel
and leave for Taunggyi (1,430 meter above
sea level). Enjoy the scenery along the way.
Look around downtown area where the
buildings are newer than in Yangon. If time
permits, observe the colorful ethnic tribes
selling their home grown produce on the
opposite side of the Myoma market. Observe
Taunggyi’s view from the top of Taung Chyun.
Leave for airport in the afternoon to fly
back to Yangon. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 10:
Leave Myanmar
After breakfast, visit Bogyoke market in
the morning. Check out from the hotel. On
the way, visit the Kaba Aye Pagoda; the
Lawka Chantha Abaya Laba Muni, the world’s
largest marble image of Buddha it time
permits. Transferred to the Yangon
International Airport for departure.
